BOXIO is a brand of Duschkraft GmbH, based in Rostock. It all started in a college shared apartment: David, Arvid, and Stefan—the three of them—wanted to get something off the ground and initially experimented with a dehumidification system for showers. During the pandemic, that evolved into a different idea: a composting toilet that fits into the Eurobox format. Practical, affordable, and no-frills.

The three of them assembled the first prototype themselves back in 2020. Today, the company has 25 employees and sells its products worldwide. That single separation toilet has evolved into a complete Eurobox system—sink, passive cooler, gas stove, and separation toilet, all in the same format—plus a modular conversion system that lets you turn almost any vehicle into a camper, without needing a water or power connection. Over 90,000 campers are now on the road with it.

The three founders—two mechanical engineers and a business administrator—still manufacture their products in Rostock today. Their commitment remains the same: high quality at a price that stays fair.
